Francisco Martinez was born and raised in Lima, Peru. His early artistic training was with his father who is an artist as well. Francisco began his formal education at USMP in Lima studying Communications and then moved to the United States. In 2004 he returned to his first love, fine art and started to explore the possibilities of different materials. Francisco captured a new series of pieces based on paper as well as other everyday objects. He captured a vision creating a parallel between experiences and the material. We are all fragile entities and our lives can be changed in fraction of seconds, just like when paper gets a wrinkle, we get scars. When the paper absorbs colors, we are absorbing feelings or knowledge running through the surface and penetrating our system.
